Taking America Back

This week we hear from a variety of voices expressing a feeling  that Americans haven't lost their optimistic ideals--our ideals have been taken away from us by forces oblivious to the real damage they've created. It's time to "take America back" from those who would harm her in the name of greed, hate and selfishness. It's time to restore America to her greatness and to her people.

The Real Reason Millennials Want Bernie
by Ryan Hlavacek
I am a Millennial. I am voting for Bernie Sanders. I do not want "free stuff." I just wanted to clarify that point since apparently that is the only reason we "kids" are voting for Bernie. The claim that young people are only voting for Bernie because we are lazy and want things handed to us is both insensitive and flat out wrong.

The real reason Millennials are eager to get Mr. Sanders into the White House has more to do with the fact that our lives as adults have been littered with mistakes by our government, which has left the deck stacked heavily against us. These mistakes have made young people especially pessimistic about government, with little trust for those we see as being in power. From the Iraq war to social issue after social issue, young people today see politics and politicians through jaded lenses. Enter Bernie Sanders. This crotchety senator, old enough to be some of our grandfathers, has struck a chord with Millennials. He has stood up for us, and championed the many issues that we see as important. Free public colleges, equal rights, raising the minimum wage--these issues ring strong with the generation that was taught “if you work hard and go to college, you will find your way to the American middle class,a lesson that many of us to know to be anything but true. His stance on social and racial justice seem almost obvious to young people. Equal rights for all is an area where I would personally like to see another generation claim to be more progressive than Millennials.

It’s also rather ironic that the group most critical of Millennials, the Baby Boomers, grew up reaping the benefits of our greatest Democratic president, FDR. His economic policies led to a booming economy, resulting in one of the most comfortable living statuses in American history.

Well guess what Boomers? FDR was just as “socialist” as Bernie Sanders. FDR fought for those who couldn't fight for themselves. He instated policies that helped all the people, not just those on the top. FDR paved the road for the Baby Boomers to have the opportunity to succeed, and that is all Millennials want. We want that same opportunity and to have a government that works for all people. Let’s not also forget that it was the Boomers who were greatly responsible for the election of Ronald Reagan, who started the ball rolling towards the obstacles that Millennials face today.

Millennials have an outlook on the social and political climate of America that hasn't been seen since the 1960s. We are not happy. We have played by the rules and not seen the results. We are not begging for hand outs; we are asking for an opportunity. An opportunity to see a government that works for all of us. We have a chance to get that opportunity, but we will work for it. We will work for it by voting for Bernie Sanders.

Bernie's Plans on Climate Change Will Take America Back to its Position as Global Leader
by Joe Brunoli
a.k.a. The EuroYankee

I grew up in the 1970s when America was leading the world in green technology and environmentalism. The ozone layer was disappearing, and we solved the problem by leading the world in eliminating CFCs.

Jimmy Carter had a program under which homeowners would get a tax deduction for installing solar heating panels on their roof. While in college I actually had a summer job selling these systems. They were very popular! And our President led by example as well: Carter installed solar heating panels on the roof of the White House.

Under Carter, America started to move to smaller, more fuel-efficient cars, and lead-free gasoline was introduced to work together with catalytic converters to lower the pollution caused by automobile exhaust.

Then Ronald Reagan was elected. Almost on the first day, he ripped out the solar panels on the White House and set about getting America back into the fossil fuel camp. SUVs were introduced, and the size of American cars swung to the other end of the size spectrum.

When I graduated college, I got my first job as European Sales Representative for Allied Signal, an American company that made catalysts for automobiles. The US was 15 years ahead of Europe in clean-car technology, and we sold our catalysts to Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Renault, Peugeot and FIAT. I must say it was a wonderful feeling to be respected as an American by my colleagues and customers: respected for the technology that only America could have pioneered.

Sadly, those days are gone. America is now “Number 1” among advanced countries only in areas like gun violence, obesity, military spending and, of course, the denial of climate change.

Bernie Sanders has a plan to take America back to our rightful place as a pioneer and an innovator in clean technology. Under Bernie’s leadership, the US will lead the world once again in stewarding the planet. America can and will become the “indispensable nation” not just in terms of military security but also in climate security. The world needs radical change in terms of our relationship with the planet and our environment. The world is counting on America not just to develop the technologies we need, but also to, once more, provide a shining example of what can be achieved when American ingenuity is combined with sensible public policy.

 This Woman is Bernie Strong!
a weekly commentary from Bernie Sanders' female supporters

This week we'll read the first part of a letter written to Hillary Clinton from a Bernie supporter from California, Allison Place.

Dear Mrs. Clinton,

Instead of condemning young females for not supporting you, perhaps you should look into the issues of why young females are not supporting you. To say that we support Mr. Sanders because “that’s where all the young boys are” as  stated by Gloria Steinem is simply insulting, and you of all people should understand the damage this sort of rhetoric can do.

Your image in politics serves great purpose to inspire women to have a voice and to get involved in the political process, but that does not subject us to having to vote for you. We aren’t going to vote for you because you’re owned by Wall Street. (Why would we vote for someone that answers to men before us, the very people you are trying to get us away from voting for?) You have an appallingly bad plan for foreign policy. Your experience, though vast, really doesn’t offer a flattering picture of your capabilities, and for many reasons, you have proven yourself untrustworthy in the eyes of the American people.

Madeleine Albright so lavishly took to the stage for you this past weekend, in an attempt to sway young feminists in igniting a “real” revolution, and to that I say, “Wrong.” A revolution requires change. You are a moderate, and you don’t really desire change in the political system. Things are going pretty well for you the way the current political system stands. You asked for $300,000 to speak at a public university (UCLA), the very institutions you say prices must be lowered for students. You say that America cannot respond to corporate interests, and yet you're entangled in a mesh of commitments to various sectors of Wall Street. You attempt to utilize the rhetoric that works so well for Mr. Sanders and try to apply it to your own campaign. To your chagrin, however, you’ve probably noticed  it doesn’t work.

Bio: Allison Place says this about herself:
"I am 19 years old; I am a Media Studies major at UC Berkeley; I have worked in social media brand management. I am from Redding (the most conservative county in California). My support for Bernie and my interest in politics took off once I came to UC Berkeley for school. Ever since Bernie started running, I have been considering a minor or double major in political science. I usually write comedy articles for my blog, but since getting more involved in politics I do a mix of both comedy and political pieces now."

Here's the story of another young woman who supports Bernie Sanders and is using her design talents to help his campaign:

My name is Zahra Wright. I live in DC, I am a junior in high school, and I designed shirts in support of Bernie Sanders -- all proceeds will be donated to his campaign! I just recently created my website for the shirts: (www.booster.com/dc-4-bernie). I support Bernie Sanders for many reasons, but most importantly, as a young person, the prospect of attending college is exciting, except when you and all of your friends are facing six figures of student loan debt. I was hoping you could share my page with other Bernie supporters.

Glad to do so, Zahra. Isn't it inspiring to see how active and talented our young people are? Don't they deserve a chance to obtain a higher education? Bernie Sanders thinks so. #Feel the Bern and #VoteTogether Nevada and South Carolina in the coming days!

Rocking the Caucus

Our two female delegates, Mary and Kay, flank "Bernie" on either side, while Alecia and I take the ends.
Rocking the Caucus

I'm not a political animal by nature. Never in a million years (not an exaggeration) would I have thought I'd "volunteer" to run as a delegate for Bernie Sanders to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this summer. But when I told another Bernie campaign organizer back in early December which district I was in, he said, "You've got to be a delegate!"

"Okay," I thought, "If Bernie needs help to win our state and I live in a mostly rural, heart-of-Republican-country congressional district, then I'm willing to go out of my comfort zone and do it for him. It'll be a learning experience."

One thing to be said for being a Bernie supporter: You learn a lot of new things in a very short period of time.

My husband and I drove approximately 50 miles to our district caucus site at a Knights of Columbus bingo hall in Marion, Ohio and only got lost once. Yes, we had to travel that far--so did many others, if not further. Some traveled upwards of 95 to 100 miles, one way. Looking at a map of the 4th Congressional district of Ohio, the word "gerrymander" springs to mind.
Ohio U.S. District 4

You would be shocked to see that it begins in the Northeastern quadrant of the state just outside the western suburbs of Cleveland, zigs, zags and serpentine-crawls it way through the middle of the state hitting our Northwest county of Seneca, dips southeasterly again through Marion in the central area of the state and then makes it way westerly to Lima and then dives south to Sidney, just north of Dayton. In this manner, the Republicans have been able to carve out a niche and install a Tea Party/Freedom Caucus idiot--excuse me, gentleman--named Jim Jordan as our U.S. House representative. We are predominately rural, small town and suburban, yet in one Congressional district we touch upon the outer Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus and Dayton metropolitan areas.

Not bad. All we're missing of the top five largest cities in Ohio is Cincinnati, and I'm sure Republicans are working on a way to zigzag in some of their 'burbs. You realize they can't have us rural/small town folks hooking up with an actual big city, don't you? Oh, no! We might be influenced to vote against the G.O.P. if we ever had contact with our big city neighbors.

Dave, one of our delegates.
The well-paying union jobs in our district have long gone to Mexico with NAFTA, and the family farms have all but withered away in the agribusiness takeover explosion of the last decades. You'd be pardoned to believe the Democratic base in this gerrymandered nightmare of a district isn't perhaps the strongest. I believed it, too, until I saw the enthusiastic Bernie supporters in the K. of C. bingo hall. People in our downtrodden district really love Bernie Sanders!

As we came into the hall, the Bernie supporters didn't appear to be in majority, but I learned later that the Hillary supporters had been provided transportation to the caucus by chartered bus, courtesy of a national union whose leaders have endorsed her. Even if we were slightly outnumbered, I can say for certain we were the liveliest and most enthusiastic group there. (Martin O'Malley's campaign failed to get the prerequisite number of signatures to be qualified for the Ohio primary ballot. I wasn't sure if any of his supporters were present or if they had migrated to one corner of the room or the other.)

The "Hillary corner" of the caucus had about twenty more people than our group my husband estimated, but they didn't strike me as the happiest of souls. The word "lethargic" comes to mind. Many were well-dressed. They didn't look like they were "working class" individuals but older, retired couples who enjoy a weekly steak dinner and a drink or two at their local country club… Not exactly working farmers or blue-collar factory workers or high school science teachers or nurses or college students struggling with overwhelming loan debt.
Jamie gives delegate Mary's Bernie stand-up sign a thumbs up!
Frankly, Bernie fans are my type of people. They're animated and came dressed in their t-shirts, hats, hoodies and wearing badges and carrying signs. They can't contain their enthusiasm for Bernie and how much they admire him and his progressive agenda. If I were throwing a party, I'd invite the "Berners" any day of the week. They're fun and friendly people. In direct contradiction to the mainstream media political pundits, we had a much higher percentage of women in our group than the Hillary camp.

By contrast, the Clintonistas acted subdued, orderly. They just didn't display much pep. We didn't see any t-shirts, hats, badges or anything else that would designate them as fans of the former secretary of state. When an elderly couple wandered in a little later in the evening and sat in the back of the room (not huddling with either group), I thought perhaps when they saw all the cars in the parking lot they thought it meant it was Bingo Night instead of the Democratic delegate caucus. Maybe they really were a part of the Hillary caucus? Their subduedness and apartness fit in with that group's vibe.

To the detriment of all, the bingo hall had terrible acoustics. At half-basketball-court size, it wasn't big enough for the approximately 80 people present. Delegates were given 60 seconds to give their "stump speech" to persuade people to vote for them. Of course, the Clintonistas were doing likewise just a few feet from our tables… Bedlam! Neither side had a mircophone or a megaphone. Talk about challenging for the hard of hearing. I really had to concentrate to hear any of the speeches.

When I caught one of the Hillary supporters behind us bellowing "I'm a FDR Democrat!" I just had to wonder why this older gentleman was sitting in the other corner of the room. Hadn't he heard Bernie's latest speech on Wall Street? It would have made FDR proud. Of course, an elderly voter probably doesn't watch You Tube or get online very often. More than likely, he watches the local news or gets his political fix from CNN or Fox. Another on-the-fence older couple I talked to earlier in the evening stated, "We love Bernie, but he's not going to win the primary." When I asked them if they'd watched any of his speeches or rallies online and did they know anything about the large number of people attending his events and how inaccurate the mainstream media polling data was, they looked at me with quizzical yet hopeful eyes. I'm happy to say they ended up caucusing with the Bernie group.

Our district gets to select four delegates per candidate--two male and two female--to be sent to the national convention. And what a long slate of names we had! We had eight women and at least six men to choose from--all very intelligent and enthusiastic candidates. It was a tough choice.

How did I do? Since I couldn't hear the first two ladies at all in the noisy hall when my time came to speak, I did like all mothers and schoolteachers everywhere do to get attention: I stood on my chair and projected loudly to our group. I got a nice round of applause, too.

Unfortunately, I came in third place in the female delegate election. I lost by one measly vote. Oh, well. At least I don't have to come up with the two or three thousand dollars to cover the costs of the hotel and travel to the convention in Philadelphia. (Whew!) I can cover the convention online and write about since I know four people from my area who can give me their insights. Odds are, not all four of our delegates will be able to attend, but you never know. Bernie could get 75% or more of the primary vote in Ohio. (Fingers crossed!)

We drove home after the caucus tired but energized. Later I learned that as the Hillary charter bus pulled out, they all "honked and waved" at a Bernie Light Brigade LED sign one our group was demonstrating in the parking lot. It seems everyone in the 4th Ohio Congressional district loves Bernie.

The War on the Middle Class

 by Cyril O'Reilly

It's not just about Democrat and Republican anymore. It's about the whole systembeing so corrupt  that it is no longer serving the people. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are playing for the same corporate elite team, the Third Way politician's "War on the Middle Class" through divide and conquer politics of the Clinton, Trump and Bush Dynasties.

Third Way politicians' divide and conquer politics have taken over the political process over the last 35 years. Third Way politicians are politicians from bothparties, very wealthy Republicans and Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The RINOs and DINOs get together and agree on everything to do with their collective money interests and power in lieu of direct or indirect favors or kickbacks from tax dodging Wall Street bankers, the oil industry, the war-for-profit industry and multinational corporations who have slowly sucked the life blood out of our American way of life while contributing less and less to our country. Third Way politicians only differ on "social issues" to give the appearance, the illusion they are against each other, because they know Americans will always split on the "social issue."

This is how the rich elites like Trump and Hillary, the Plutocrats, Corporatists, Oligarchs, the 1% Ruling Class, or whatever name you want to give them--Third Way politicians--from both sides have divided and conquered the American people for a very long time now. Third Way politicians know "social issues" are divisive issues with a no one-size-fits-all solution to them. They use them to instill fear in people that their rights are going to be taken away. And, of course, we all get fearful when we think someone is going to take away our rights. Who wouldn't?

This is the political manipulation used on the American people by both the Left and Right over and over again until they get the American people so loud, angry and heated with each other that we stop paying attention to the real moralcrises of our time, which is their War on the Middle Class with Endless-Wars-for-Endless-Profits and the poverty and income inequality it creates here at home and around the world. Wall Street insider trading, wage theft from ordinary workers, too big banks, obscene CEO pay, payoffs to "friendly" politicians on the take from billionaires taking over of our government and our democracy… What they don't realize is that the people are waking up to this diversionary tactic to see through it for the ultimate 1% deception it really is.

Hillary Clinton, just like Jeb Bush or Donald Trump, is a Third Way politician. These politicians will never send their sons and daughters to fight and die in these economic wars. Cowards all. You will hardly, if ever, hear about the issue of Third Way Politics being discussed in the corporate mainstream media news because the companies who own these media outlets are the very ones who are practicing Third Way politics. They don't want the general public to become aware or educated about how much they use divide and conquer techniques or how the Third Way political system is being implemented by them. They play both sides, and we end up paying for these endless wars with our lives and our money.

Let's pull the sheets on these warmongering cowards who gong empty patriotism while lining their pockets. Enough of endless wars that have not only destroyed other countries and created new enemies but have destroyed our middle class right here at home. It's been sixteen years since President Bill Clinton's disastrous decision to repeal FDR's Glass-Steagall Act, which brought about the 2008 Great Recession. Hillary, Trump and the Bush families, as well as their Wall Street and banking cohorts, made the most of their millions and billions while the middle class and working poor paid for the bank bail-out with our tax dollars. For a decade and a half leading up to the 2008, Trump and Hillary didn't take any actions because they were too busy getting rich off the banks being deregulated. Now, all of a sudden, they promise the American people that they are going to "fix it," tell Wall Street to "cut it out" and "make America great again?"

If you believe that then I don't know what to tell you. Here is the billion dollar question to ask yourself: Why after 35 years, with both Democratic and Republican presidents in office, do these same trickle-down tax policies and repealed laws , which only help the rich get richer and  destroy our middle class way of life, still exist? Answer: Third Way Politicians. Their time of ruling over us is coming to an end, and they are terrified as well they should be.

Two hundred-forty years ago Americans kicked out a British king-- only to be replaced by a bunch of corrupt Wall Street kings! This is not the America or the world I want to leave for my children. This is not “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” that our Declaration of Independence talks about. The only other weapon the corrupt Wall Street banking and political elite (greedy Republicans and Democrats) have in their arsenal, beside divide and conquer and distracting us with the war they've been waging on the middle class, is their "War on Terror." This includes ISIS who they helped to grow, create and, yes, even fund--by accident or not--by leaving tanks and other military weapons behind for the terrorists to use.
Yes, we must now defeat the terrorists who they helped to create. But a big part of defeating the terrorists is defeating and rooting out the corrupt political system and the war profiteers who help perpetuate them for no other reason than  to line their greedy pockets. These profiteers secretly and slowly chip away at our 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights, freedoms, civil liberties and privacy rights. Again it's all at the expense of the middle class and the poor around the world--with the added expense of what appears to be endless war as the "gold standard" for this new American way of life.

Is this what Americans' lives have finally become worth? Debt slaves and war fodder for elites who will never fight these wars or know the life shortening struggle of barely getting by because they haven't changed tax policies and laws to benefit the middle class and working poor for the last 35 years? Are they that out-of-touch to see what is going on right here at home?

We need an infusion of real financial, political and social reforms to offset the unchallenged con job of the "trickle-down" and unfair tax polices we were sold and which continues to hurt us to this very day. There's culpability from both corrupt Republicans and Democrats exploiting and rigging the system. It's wrong and not good for the future of our country. We need change.

Time to fight back. This is why I'll be voting for Bernie Sanders for president in 2016.

 Off to the Caucus

Shall we make Warren roll over in his grave?
A lot is happening this week in the Bernie Sanders campaign, and we're barely into 2016. I'll be attending the Ohio Democratic Delegate Caucus tonight where Bernie's delegates will be selected for this summer's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. This is my first time ever to involved in such a political process. I'm nervous. I'll be traveling to the heart of our extremely gerrymandered district, located squarely in the heart of Republican country, namely the hometown of  infamous Republican president, Warren G. Harding

While Harding's administration became notorious for its numerous corrupt officials involved in the Teapot Dome Scandal, President Harding didn't live long enough to experience the media circus and the smudge on his reputation. And, at least in Marion, Ohio, the small town newspaperman who became president for a brief time is revered. He and his wife have a very nice memorial in the local cemetery.  It's worth visiting if you're ever in the area.

But it's 2016 and it's time for a political revolution. It's time for change. Bernie's supporters are coming to town. Marion is about to #FeeltheBern. Ohio 4th Congressional District voters--see you at the caucus. More on my experiences next week.

Hillary Clinton's Blood Money
by Cindy A. Matthews

In the first Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton asserted that Bernie Sanders wasn't tough enough on guns and claimed she was an "enemy" of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Sanders correctly replied that he'd received failing marks from the NRA and was no friend of theirs. Bernie Sanders was rated F by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun control voting record, while Hillary Clinton has flip-flopped on the topic of gun control as this video demonstrates:

http://readersupportednews.org/opinion2/277-75/33906-focus-hillary-clinton-should-apologize-to-bernie-sanders

After recent mass murder events in California, Georgia and Colorado, Senator Sanders spoke from Capitol Hill about these recent tragedies and gun safety legislation that should be passed. The following short video gives a good overview of his gun control proposals:

http://www.c-span.org/video/?c4564606/sanders-calls-common-sense-gun-safety-legislation

Bernie Sanders proposes ten ways to eliminate gun violence in America, including expanding background checks, renewing the assault weapons ban, closing the "terror gap" and insuring mental health treatment for those who need it when they need it. (To read more about his proposals, please click on this link or click on the "Bernie Sanders on Gun Control" page link listed on the sidebar.)

Mrs. Clinton has been fairlyquiet since the latest shooting in San Bernardino. She issued the standard Twitter statement like most political candidates do, but she's not made any particular big fuss over the recent massacres or denounced the NRA and demanded more stringent gun control laws. Why is that? She claims she isn't a friend of the NRA--and they probably agree with her-- but could Hillary Clinton's silence indicate guilt over her family's foundation taking money from other countries and groups which have killed indiscriminately?
The following links and article quotes show a worrisome pattern of behavior. They indicate that the former secretary of state has readily accepted large sums of money from foreign powers and others with blood on their hands.
…the Clinton Foundation failed to report tens of millions in foreign donations in their tax documents, a revelation that has forced the organization to re-file at least five years' worth of returns. … Some of those many undisclosed donations (which violated Hillary's transparency pledge) were related to a troubling transaction in which (a) the Russian government obtained the rights to a large chunk of US uranium interests, (b) investors and magnates connected to the deal profited handsomely, (c) the Clinton Foundation (and the Clinton themselves) pocketed millions, and (d) Hillary's State Department signed off on the whole thing -- before "repeatedly breaking" promises to mitigate national security concerns.
Particularly troublesome is that the Clinton Foundation--a charitable organization created by Hillary and Bill Clinton--isn't always forthcoming as to the names of their supporters.
Trump states that Clinton Foundation not very open about who actually does give it money. Trump has also repeatedly criticized Clinton for the lack of public transparency on her charitable foundation’s dealings.
“If this was a Republican sitting right there, this would absolutely be considered illegal,” Trump said in April of the organization’s activities...
During Mrs. Clinton's time as secretary of state, several Middle Eastern countries with abysmal human rights records were very generous supporters to the Clinton Foundation--and rewarded in turn with lucrative arms deals.
The Qataris denied the Guardian report, while the Clintons said that philanthropy shouldn’t sit in judgment on its benefactors. That’s probably what they hope voters will think about politics too, but the problem for the Clintons is that all of these corrupt relationships cross traditional liberal constituencies. It’s tough to be pro-LGBT if you’re enabling regimes that throw gays off of rooftops, and it’s tough to be pro-worker when you’re shaking hands with people who are killing them by the dozen to build sports stadiums as monuments to their rule.
In the years before Hillary Clinton became secretary of state, Saudi Arabia had contributed $10 million to the Clinton Foundation, and just two months before the jet deal was finalized, Boeing donated $900,000 to the Clinton Foundation, according to an International Business Times investigation released Tuesday.
The Saudi transaction is just one example of nations and companies that had donated to the Clinton Foundation seeing an increase in arms deals while Hillary Clinton oversaw the State Department.

If you're hoping against hope that foreign governments and big corporations donating large sums to the Clinton Foundation can't possible influence Mrs. Clinton's decisions while  in office, this Washington Post article will put that hope to rest:
The Washington Post reported last week that foreign sources, including governments, made up a third of those who have given the foundation more than $1 million over time. The Post found that the foundation, begun by former president Bill Clinton, has raised nearly $2 billion since its creation in 2001.
Foreign governments and individuals are prohibited from giving money to U.S. political candidates, to prevent outside influence over national leaders. But the foundation has given donors a way to potentially gain favor with the Clintons outside the traditional political limits.

Hillary Clinton also claims that she is an "enemy" of Big Pharma and the Health Insurance Industry, and yet health insurance and drug companies have been some of her biggest financial supporters. Who's to say her "enemy" the NRA and related gun lobbyists aren't donating to her campaign or to the Clinton Foundation as well? As previous article links demonstrate, the Clinton Foundation isn't always forthcoming about the name of their donors and their accounting practices.
In 2008, Clinton was among the three biggest recipients of campaign cash from pharmaceutical-related companies, according to data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics... The center reports that Clinton also raised more than $1.2 million from the insurance industry -- which includes health insurers.
On top of those campaign contributions, the Clintons and their family foundation have benefited from their ties to the pharmaceutical and insurance industries.
In 2011, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) -- the primary trade association representing drug companies -- paid Bill Clinton $200,000 for a speech, as the organization was lobbying the Hillary Clinton-led State Department. Last year, the Drug Chemical and Associated Technologies Association, a trade group whose members include major pharmaceutical companies, paid her a $250,000 speaking fee.

http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2015/10/14/hillary-takes-millions-in-campaign-cash-from-enemies
Since her first bid for Senate in 2000, Clinton has accepted nearly $1 million from drug and health companies and more than $2.7 million from the insurance field and its related sectors, according to an analysis of public records from the Center for Responsive Politics.
More recently, the Clinton Foundation has also benefited from these groups’ donations. Donors and grantors who have given between $1 million and $5 million include Pfizer, the Procter & Gamble Co., Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and Humana Inc.
A handful of the Fortune 100 corporations were missing lobbying disclosures from one or more years of Clinton's tenure, suggesting more may have lobbied the agency during that time. The Clinton Foundation did not return a request for comment.
How do we know the NRA or other gun lobbyists weren't among these corporations? We don't. We must take Hillary and Bill Clinton's word for it. We can trust them, right?  It's not like the Clintons have made millions from their foundation and their lobbying efforts, right? Oh, yes, they have... They have made millions. Hundreds of millions of dollars.

http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/31474-hillary-clinton-s-wall-street-address
...While Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, her department “approved $165 billion worth of commercial arms sales to 20 nations whose governments have given money to the Clinton Foundation, according to an IBTimes analysis of State Department and foundation data…
Those nations include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, each of which “gained State Department clearance to buy caches of American-made weapons even as the department singled them out for a range of alleged ills, from corruption to restrictions on civil liberties to violent crackdowns against political opponents.”
Further, American defense contractors like Boeing and Lockheed who sold those arms and their delivery systems also shelled out heavily to the $2 billion Clinton Foundation and the Clinton family. According to Sirota, “In all, governments and corporations involved in the arms deals approved by Clinton’s State Department have delivered between $54 million and $141 million to the Clinton Foundation as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments to the Clinton family, according to foundation and State Department records. The Clinton Foundation publishes only a rough range of individual contributors’ donations, making a more precise accounting impossible.”

Is it any wonder Hillary Clinton never spoke out against Citizens United until aftershe'd received large sums of money for her Super PACs? The Clintons' support of Big Business over the best interests of ordinary Americans has been well documented. She may pretend to be a "progressive" and attempt to imitate Bernie Sanders' positions on the issues, but her actions prove otherwise. Further evidence of her pro-Big Business/pro-Wall Street agenda can be found in these articles:

How "progressive" of you, Mrs. Clinton!

So much money--so many lives lost or permanently harmed by wars in the Middle East and elsewhere. So much money--so many lives cut short because health care isn't a universal right in the US and pharmaceutical companies are free to charge astronomical prices. Remember Martin Shkreli's recent 5000% price hike of an AIDS drug? We'd likely see more of this abhorrent activity in a Hillary Clinton administration.
Donations for arms deals... Donations for legislation favoring the billionaires over the working poor... All this "blood money" has touched the hands of Bill and Hillary Clinton through their Clinton Foundation.
To quote Sen. Richard Lugar, a ranking member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee while Hillary was secretary of state: “The Clinton Foundation exists as a temptation for any foreign entity or government that believes it could curry favor through a donation."  Sen. John Kerry, current secretary of state and the committee's chairman at the time, called Lugar's concerns over the Clinton Foundation a "legitimate question." Hillary Clinton accuses Bernie Sanders of not being tough enough on gun control?  It's laughable when you consider how much money she's taken from cold-blooded killers.

Vote for a candidate you can trust to put ordinary Americans' health, safety--our very lives--before pleasing billionaires and instead of lining his own pockets with immoral multi-million dollar "donations" from foreign governments and Wall Street to a family-owned foundation with questionable accounting practices. Vote Bernie Sanders.
